What words do you write in appreciation for someone who has
given so much? Endless hours listening, learning, copying, collecting, and
making things ready for practices. Putting up with the wanna be comedians in
the “back row”. Offering time and individual practices for those of us in the
remedial music class.
Many are the times your music has brought tears to my eyes
and warmth to my heart. Stake and ward conferences, Christmas, special musical
events, a special barbershop number, our friend Don’s funeral, I could list
many, many, more.
You and your family, through associations of children, friends,
and events have been a tremendous impact upon our family and have made music a much
larger part of our lives.
Most importantly I am a better man for having known Jackie
McArthur.
